Major key alert when this creative steps in the room. Simply put someone I keyed in on once I got to see him in action. Very much understated and very much a natural talent. Amazing leadership with the ability to cut through the noise and get to the substance. He has an uncanny ability to digest core problems and come up with smart, creative & engaging solutions to any ask. Along with the raw talent of being creative, his leadership instincts showed through his connection to his creative team by allowing them to own projects while growing in new roles. All around top tier a creative mind, one of the best if not the best I’ve had an opportunity to share a project with.

One of the biggest reasons I stuck around so long. Even though his exit was way before mine, he made my work seamless and fun at the same damn time. Brought major energy into the room and work; whether it was through his writing or presentations. He had that it factor, we both came from completely different backgrounds, but found commonality in our work.

First big project under the Ruffles brand and he lived up to the hype coming off of the interviewing process. Definitely one of my favorite creatives to work with and wouldn’t hesitate to bring his wealth of knowledge of the industry along with a diverse cultural perspective onto any project. It doesn’t hurt that he knows how to instantly light up a room with his witty humor.

One of the most interesting men I know. He pops up when you least expect it and is another individual with a unique perspective that is to be respected in his work. When we were able to lock in on our first and only project to date (more definitely in the works) I was new to the advertising industry, but he maneuvered as a seasoned vet. The way he wrote the ideas and concepts along with visual antidotes helped me understand how to write and ultimately realigned my perspective for my career. I always thought I wanted to stay in the art direction space, but once I got to see the duality of the creative director position I knew not only did I want to control the writing narrative, but I could also create the visual narrative.

Alright…Alright…Alright, the Texas boy has embraced the media side of the world. And social media is his muse! Working at TMA and under some great mentors I’ve seen him develop a knack for concepting and seeing things in a broader scope with brand equity in mind. The unique characteristic of the role he plays is one that knows how to bring levity to a sometimes stressful /serious industry. When deadlines and jobs are on the line people sometimes tighten up and lose the mental freedom to ideate. So I’ve learned from him to go in and not be so prescriptive and to have fun doing the job you love to do. Brainstorming should be exactly what a storm is, a mess that helps things ultimately grow.

First of all, I would like to say: It’s better to have her on your side of the table than the other side. A bit of a unicorn in the sense that she has some solid creative chops to go with her accounting acumen; which leads to major project scalability. The majority of my wins as a creative on the Ruffles account started from a simple “I have an idea, let’s chat” and she was all ears. During our brief conversation, she was able to take in the raw idea and begin to visualize and formulate its benefits for the brand’s equity and how all parties can work together to execute the ambitious idea. This is very important in this business, being ambitiously creative can get messy. No risk means no reward, and having a solid team member that mitigates the amount of blowback is important because it's inevitable. You must take on that risk and tension in order to stretch and reach your full potential as a team and a brand.

I say advertising and marketing is a modern-day art form and she plays a great role as a Maestro with a bit of a bite.

Every team should have one person in the bunch that has an uncanny ability to bring a sense of calm to any situation. Jen not only did that but was able to connect with all clients no matter how difficult of a personality or the problem that needed solved her demeanor was constant. The clients recognized this and she naturally was their day-to-day contact and they became even more receptive to our POV when working on any project. This ultimately eliminates a lot of back and forth as she became a buffer for unnecessary chatter and a voice of reason.

What can I say that she doesn’t already know? Besides the fact that she already knows that she thinks she already knows that I think she already knows. 😂 Enough of the dad jokes! While working with Stephanie, she quickly became the oracle of the Ruffles team and Shyrl Bagnaris’s brain trust and personal Ai hard drive. (and the rest of the team) It can be frustrating at times,l but a necessary skill set in a fast pace, complex, and detailed oriented business. She epitomized various attributes of an excellent account lead and excelled in that role.

Shhhhhhh 🤫 Stephanie is coming…She hears everything! 😂

Some clients are God sent…with them being at the right place at the right time of your career. Brandi was just that for me in a big leap in my career. I would like to think she approaches projects similarly to me with her third eye glued wide open. She strived to stretch every asset and team working a project to the max without damaging the overall output. This ambition can and should be infectious and is a necessity for relatively “small brands” looking to make the leap to being a big brands. It was this dogmatic approach that I appreciated the most about her style of brand management which makes her a thought starter and brand leader.
